Historic Tree

Estimated to be 200 to 300 years old, the oak tree is one of Florida's oldest and sturdiest trees. It has been able to withstand hurricane-force winds, droughts, floods, and even fires. The oak tree is located in the center of the gardens and is one of the most photographed tree on the East Coast in Florida.

Rose Garden

The original owner, Owen D. Young, passed away in 1962 where the property was left to his wife. Mrs Young passed away in 1965 where she gave most of the land to the State of Florida. Upon her request, the gardens would be maintained in its original form but may be expanded as funds became available.

Gazebo

Keeping the Young's wishes, the ponds, including the one in front of the gazebo, has kept it's original form but has improved over the years as funds have become available. The original fountain that once was located in the center of the gardens has now been replaced with several different fountains located in the center of the ponds.
